SiftGPT is Sift's built-in AI assistant, purpose-built to help you understand your data, spot trends, and get answers - all through a simple conversational interface.

## How it works [#how-it-works]

Simply type a question into the chat, and SiftGPT will search your connected data and knowledge base to provide an informed response. Use **@** to mention users or assignees, **#** to reference channels, and **$** to specify sources - so you can ask precise questions about specific parts of your social ecosystem.

To get you started, SiftGPT suggests prompts like _"What are the top customer complaints this week?"_ and _"Summarize customer feedback trends over the past 7 days"_ - but you can ask anything about your data, from trend analysis to conversation summaries.

## Conversation history [#conversation-history]

Your conversation history is saved in the sidebar on the left, organized by date, so you can pick up where you left off or start a new chat at any time. Chats can also be shared with your team via a direct link.
