# Channels (/docs/sources/channels)

The Channels tab drills one level deeper than Platforms. It shows activity broken down by individual channels - specific Discord servers, Facebook pages, Discourse communities, optionally tracked Slack channels - across all your connected platforms at once.

## What you're looking at [#what-youre-looking-at]

Metric cards at the top summarize the big picture:

- **Total Channels**: every channel across all platforms.
- **Active Channels**: channels with recent activity, as a percentage of the total.
- **Total Messages**: message volume, with a count of action items generated.
- **Avg Sentiment**: sentiment weighted by analyzed messages.

Below the metrics, a **Top Channels by Activity** section highlights your most active channels as clickable cards, each showing the platform logo, channel name, and message count.

## Charts [#charts]

The chart view provides four visualizations:

- **Top Channels Activity Over Time**: an area chart of daily message volume for the top 5 most active channels.
- **Channel Performance**: a ranked bar list of top channels by message volume and analysis metrics.
- **Channels by Platform**: a distribution chart showing how channels are spread across your connected platforms.
- **Channel Sentiment Distribution**: a breakdown of sentiment (Positive, Neutral, Negative) across all channel messages.
