What you're looking at
Found under Settings > AI > Voice & Tone. Brand Voice starts off - a banner on the page makes this explicit, since nothing here shapes drafts until you turn it on with the switch on the Voice profile card.
Setting it up
- Generate from your sent replies: the fastest way to start. Sift reads your team's recent replies and fills in a first draft of the voice profile, which you can edit before it goes live.
- Voice & Tone: describe how every reply should sound - personality, tone, phrasing - in your own words, like briefing a new teammate.
- Things to Avoid: an explicit list of words, phrases, or behaviors to keep out of AI-drafted replies.
- Public override: your Voice & Tone description applies everywhere by default. Turn this on to add separate instructions that only apply to public posts and comments (as opposed to DMs or private support threads), where tone often needs to be more careful.
- An optional nudge field lets you fine-tune the generated result (for example, "a bit more formal") without rewriting everything by hand.
Tips
- Turn on Generate from your sent replies first, even if you plan to rewrite most of it - it's faster to edit an AI-drafted starting point than to write a voice profile from a blank page.
- Keep Things to Avoid specific. A vague entry like "unprofessional language" gives the AI less to work with than naming actual words or patterns your team has flagged.
