Set it up

Go to Settings → Integrations → Higher Logic and:
- Provide your community URL and an admin API token from Higher Logic.
- Scope to communities + sub-communities: pick which ones Sift watches.
- (Optional) Have agents connect their own tokens for personal attribution on replies.
- Assign each community to a queue (optional) for routing.
The admin token is what Sift uses to subscribe to webhooks and post replies by default. Agent-level tokens layer on top.
What you can do
Reply in a thread or on a private message - Sift posts back to Higher Logic as the connected staff agent. Add or set tags on a discussion (useful from a workflow rule, e.g. auto-tag "billing" on inbound matching that keyword).
Trigger workflows off community, sub-community, sentiment, keyword, or tag. Route to the right team automatically. Apply auto-reply bots for FAQ patterns.
Each agent can optionally connect their own Higher Logic token so replies attribute to them rather than a shared admin account. Otherwise replies post as the admin token used at setup.
What Sift ingests
Higher Logic pushes events via webhook (real-time) for the community types and sub-communities you scope to. Sift ingests:
- New discussion threads in every monitored community / sub-community
- Replies on threads, including nested replies
- Private messages routed through the community surface (not personal email)
- Mentions of any configured staff account or shared staff handle
Each item carries the community + sub-community, author profile, timestamps, and any tags already on the discussion - usable for filtering and routing.
Not supported today
- Closing or locking a discussion: moderate from Higher Logic directly.
- Creating new discussions: Sift handles replies and DMs, not authoring.
- Moderation flags / report management: the API exists but isn't wired up for customer use. Let us know if you need it.
- Personal email DMs: only PMs routed through the community surface are ingested. Direct personal email isn't reachable through Higher Logic's API.
