Threads
Connect a Threads account to Sift to pull replies, mentions, quote-threads, and keyword matches into the inbox alongside your other social channels. Threads runs on the same Meta connection as Instagram - set up one, get the other.

Set it up
Threads doesn't have its own entry in Settings → Integrations - it's a section on the Facebook settings page (/app/settings/facebook), alongside Facebook Pages, since both ride on the same Meta connection. Go to Settings → Integrations → Facebook, scroll to Threads accounts, and authenticate with the Meta Business account that owns the Instagram Professional account tied to your Threads handle. The OAuth scope needed is threads_content_publish so Sift can both read inbound and post replies.
If you already have Instagram connected, the Threads connection reuses the same Meta Business - no separate sign-in.
What you can do
Reply to any inbound thread from the inbox - Sift posts via Meta's Threads API as the connected account. Delete a thread you posted from Sift (cleanup or correction).
Trigger workflows off thread signals - keyword, language, author, account. Route to the right team automatically. Apply auto-reply bots for FAQ patterns or off-hours acknowledgements.
Reply throughput is rate-limited by Meta to ~1,000 replies per 24 hours per account. Replies are text-only (Meta's reply endpoint doesn't accept media today).
What Sift ingests
Threads runs through Meta's graph, so it shares the same business connection as Instagram. Once an Instagram Professional account is linked to a Threads account on Meta's side, Sift can ingest:
- Replies on any post your account published
- Mentions of your handle from anywhere on Threads
- Quote-threads: when someone reposts your thread with their own commentary
- Keyword matches for terms you ask Sift to track across the network
Every inbound is tagged with why it matched (reply vs mention vs quote vs keyword) so you can filter and route on the match type, not just the platform.
Not supported today
- Direct messages: Meta's Threads API doesn't expose them. If DMs are critical, handle them through Instagram (which does have DM support in Sift).
- Quote-threads from your side: outbound is reply-only; you can't quote-thread someone else's post from Sift today.
- Reply with media attachments: Meta's reply endpoint accepts text only at the moment.
- Threads accounts not linked to Instagram: Meta requires the link; standalone Threads accounts can't be connected.
