This page provides details on all of the permissions we request on Discord and why. We aim to remain as least privilege as possible, making sure that our app can do as much as possible, while requesting the lowest levels of permission we need to do the job. When you set up an integration, this page walks you through why we use every permission that we use.
Create Invite
Join channels in Discord from the Sift Dashboard.
Read Messages
Read messages in selected channels (in Channel Tracking) for analytics and AI analysis (Topics, Sentiment, Personas, and more)
Send Messages
Respond to Questions from the Sift dashboard and/or Slack and Generate responses using SiftGPT
Send Messages in Threads
Respond to Questions from the Sift dashboard and/or Slack and Generate responses using SiftGPT
Create Public Threads
Create threads for public SiftGPT responses. SiftGPT will always respond in threads to ensure that conversations are in threads to make sure conversations stay organized.
Create Private Threads
Required for Support Tickets Only. Create Private Support Tickets for Users in a Discord. Sift always responds in threads to ensure the conversation doesn't overtake the rest of your community and only involves the relevant people.
Read Message History

Add Reactions
Sift adds reactions when we create a question or ticket from a message to acknowledge the creation and tracking.
